Callidus Design has recently been appointed by SGL Carbon Fibers Ltd to carry out the mechanical, electrical and controls design for a number of work packages associated with the replacement of their existing RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser) plant at Unit 11 of the Muir of Ord site. The design packages are sub divided into contractor work elements. These packages include a new Compressed Air Installation; modifications to the existing Natural Gas & Nitrogen Installations; modifications to the existing Ductwork Installation; a new Heat Exchanger circuit to recover excess heat from the exhaust airstream at the new RTO Installation; upgrade to the existing Electrical Switchgear and installation of new Electrical Switchgear; the general Small Power & Lighting Installation upgrades; and the Lightning Protection Installation.
